Help i really miss him...?

by boyfriend of many years dumped me for some freedom and over the weeks has been partying with mates.I am 100 percent sure there is no 'other' woman, but he said my control issues were getting to him he needed a break.Recently he has mellowed tho', calling me telling me it was the work pressure that made him party.I know past six weeks he had an important deadline to meet.the deadline is tomorrow for 16,ooo applications.he has been moved to a different dept (i think he is struggling) he has never been particularly good at his job and had difficulty securing it. he said he will meet me after deadline tomorrow.Is this reasonable he would leave me to party through this??? and why?
