Can a russian T-34 tank be driven underwater?

I saw this in a movie, where a T-34 is fully submerged underwater and rides for 2 minutes like this. Is this possible? It didn't have any air vents it was completly subemrged, the entrances to the tank were sealed with grease. But I think that underwater, the engine wouldn't be able to run without oxygen. Anyone?
