Spiritually speaking, how detrimental to today's spiritual environment were the TV shows of the late 70's?

Well, I liked the police and crime shows back then. They had the moral that if you did something wrong, you'd get caught. They had a lot more believable plots than they do now. I just watched one last night where they couldn't nab the guy because he had diplomatic immunity. I've seen that one on at least twenty other shows. Other ones have the cops dealing with terrorists, spies, and bombs. It's not real life and the plots are getting repetitive.
